Hi, got a couple of problems i was hoping for some help with.
First problem - on the same dimmmer switch i have a pendant light fitting and two saxby low voltage lights.
Been working fine for a few weeks unitl the other day the two low voltage lights stopped working, they blew when i turned them on, replaced the transformers and they worked again , till the next morning when they blew.
Any ideas?

And my second problem, i have got 8 spotlights in my bedroom and when switched by a dimmer(400 watt) and when they are switched on i can hear a buzzing coming from the mcb in the consumer unit, which stops when i turn the lights off, very strange, its a contraction unit i think..

Thanks in adavnce for any help.

Firstly, please ensure there is no possibility of a short between mains and low-voltage output of the transformer(s) - they should be physically wired in such a way as to prevent this but...

When you say 'blew' did you have to replace the lamps as well as the transformers?

I would also check whether the transformers can be used with a dimmer as not all can. Generally the electronic transformers can be dimmed but you should check before buying. Also check the rating, typically you can run up to 2*50w lamps off one transformer (depending on rating) also are you using low energy lamps as not all transformers are compatible with these?

Not sure what you mean by 'contraction unit'?

Thanks for the reply pk, they are normal mr16 50 watt lamps, one per transformer.
they didnt blow the lamps just the transformers.

The contrction unit was the brand of db.
