Hi, I have an Ideal Elan 2 boilder, and all-but-one of my downstairs radiators aren't working! I have bled the radiators, although there doesn't appear to be any air in them. Can anyone help? Bare in mind I know nothing about central heating!

Many thanks,

Mike

Hi, are the upstairs radiators really nice and hot as normal or are they not too happy either?

I'd start by checking whether you can hear if the pump is running and see if it can be turned up to a higher speed to see how that affects things.

Hi, thanks for that.

Yeah the upstairs radiators are working fine. Where would I find the pump? There is a large insulated water tank upstairs (directly above the boiler downstairs), would it be attached to that?

The downstairs radiators (except one) are stone cold, everything else gets really hot. Does that sound like a blockage?

It certainly could be a blockage. Have the radiators very suddenly stopped heating or has there been a gradual drop in their temperature.

A sudden drop in performance is often a pump or motorized valve fault.
