Hi,i am having the pointing re done in my lower ground flat with limebased mortar and have been advised to remove a concrete plinth which is bridging the DPC.Its an old Victorian building in London.A small section of the plinth has been removed but there appears to be no obvious DPC i.e. slate etc.The black line on the render 2 bricks up fom the bottom is the internal suspended floor level.Does anyone have any advice or suggestions to establish DPC level?
Many Thanks.

Hennners, good evening.

Notice this is your first post on the board, if no one else does welcome.

Two possible answers.
1/. there is no DPC
2/. The DPC is masked by the plinth?

I would bet [if i gambled] on option 2

Suggest you lift a slab and have a good look, as a rule of thumb the DPC is best situated about 150.mm above ground, but no one told the old school builders that did that wall about that?

As an aside, how high is the "plinth" above ground level?

Ken.
