Should there be a course of bricks on the DPC and DPM in an opening of a cavity wall. I'm asking this as I will soon need to fit a double glazed upvc door and was wondering if the double glazed door can sit directly onto the dpc and dpm.

As far as I know it can rest on top of the DPC. Because it's exposed though you need to make sure you don't penetrate it.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that I might have to fix down as the opening is quite large and I imagine it will require some sort of through fixing to the base in order to stabalise the cill. I will have to make some enquiries to the manufacturers although being able to sit directly onto the dpc/dpm would be a good start.

Just bed the cill with sand & cement. Also make sure the bottom cill is not bow, use a straight edge.
