Hey Guys

Im just about to start a Garage Conversion and I'm ironing out all the unknowns about the project.

My floor to ceiling in 230cm. Ive built up the design spec for my joiner to be 2.5 cm gap, 10cm beam, 5cm harwood/laminate, 200cm door space, 25cm to ceiling.

The ground is a concrete slab, which after a 7" diamond drill found is 15cm thick so no foundations needed for garage wall :D

Anyway, do I need to put anything on the concrete slab before I put in the beams?

Is a DPC required?.. whats the material so i can look online to source..

Cheers
Dave

Hangers? 10cm deep joists won't span very far. Why don't you just lay dpc>insulation>floating floor (ie straight on top of the insulation)
