Hi

Recently I have had some problem of mold appearing on the bottom of the wall that had DPC done, I dont know when was it done to be honest as I recently bought this property. There is a small black tape like thing coming off the wall on the external wall and on the other side which is an internal wall has this damp and mold on it.

Does this mean that DPC done earlier has failed?
Its only mostly on just one wall not everywhere, I dont know if it is done on all the 4 sides of the house or just at the back.

If I need to do the DPC again is it something I can do on my own or do i need to get a specialist to come in and do it for me.

Please advise

You may have rain bouncing of hard surface or other problems , leaking gutters etc which wet the wall, the water falls thru the brickwork till it hits the damp course and runs out to dry on outer wall, but render can prevent this and if there is too much water in the brickwork it can also travel in when it hits the dpc and cause damp.Any pics inside and out, close up and distant.
