Hi, I had a problem with the underground drainage in my kitchen which I have now fixed. I needed to dig through the kitchen floor tiles and then through 4 inches of concrete and cut through the blue dpm. Then another 4 inches of soil until I reached the leaking pipe.

I have excavated a small 2ft by 3ft trench in a kitchen about 15ft by 9ft.

I am now considering two things. what to back fill with and do I need to overlap the new dpm with the existing.

I thought that pea shingle is used around clay drains but mine are plastic and I am not sure if to use this or not.
Not sure about the dpm, I thought that I saw polysterene used on a new build once where they just added the concrete ontop????

Any thoughts would be really helpful especially concerning the dpm.

Cheers
