Drain cleaner that won't negatively affect my septic tank?

On checking my drains I'm getting a little fat build-up on a few feet of the base of the pipe work that leads from the kitchen sink. I could use my pressure washer and spray hose attachment (which is a messy pain to use) or try a liquid drain cleaner of some description.

Bearing in mind that I have a septic tank, which drain cleaner would be safe to use and do a good job ?

Pro drain cleaning required maybe. Jet wash it.
Take professional advice

Manual cleaning for the pipe, and going forward strive to avoid putting fats down the sink; warm cooking trays so fats are liquid and pour them into a can you keep the freezer, wipe residual fats off before washing..

High Pressure Water always preferable to chemicals, and I personally wouldn't be putting anything into a septic tank other than the 3 P's, (pee, poo & paper), and minimal detergents/cleaning solutions. The Tank is relying on a healthy population of bacteria to break down the waste products, kill them off and you'll soon be in a mess.

Going forward, try and mop up excess fat and put it in a bin if you can, otherwise you'll be cleaning it out the drains on a regular basis, and/or finding it clogging the tank up.
