Hi all, I would appreciate any advice please if possible?

I need to replace the drain cover but I have no experience in fitting them at all.

There is an iron one in place at the moment but it is not sitting on anything (apart from another pipe) and so rides up and leaves get it.

How do I get it to 'sit' on something so that it is flush and sturdy?

I have attached a couple of photos, so hopefully someone can help!

Thank you,

I think the cover should sit on the square frame below the big pipe . What does that big pipe come from?
