Is it considered good practice to put a drain off valve on every single radiator if possible or is it not really necessary?

All ground floor radiators ,if pipework to them is fed from above, would benefit from drain cocks ( which can be integral to the lock shield valves).

Really only necessary when the rads are fed by drops from the main flow and return pipework above, so the main system can be drained down and even then typically only on the flow and return of the rad closest to the door, as the others can always be drained @ the valve connections.
