Hi all,

can anyone answer me this question?
I live in a mid terraced house and i want to put my washer under the stairs but confused on the right ways to plumb the drain pipe???
Should i just extend the washer pipe or plumb a drain and u bend in the crawlspace under the floor any help would be fab guys cheers

You dont want a long horizontal leg of waste hose from the machine. (Will collect crud and soon start to stink and/or block!) It needs to rise as close to machine as possible, to then discharge under gravity. If it is possible to run a 40mm waste pipe under the floor to a suitable drain then thats the method to employ. I'd fit a washing machine trap above the floor level, then run the waste from that under the floor.

Cheers for the advice.

The only grid that i have is in the back so i would have to go down under the floor board and then back up above the boards again to get to the grid.. but i worry that the smells from trapped water would start to smell.

Will have to see if i can run it along the back of the kick boards and cupboard instead.

thanks for the advice though :)
