Hi all

I have just bought a house with a drain/grid in the garage which holds water close to the surface. I removed some of this yesterday and it has since refilled almost complete. It never seems to overflow so I wondered: is this normal or does it need some attention.

The pic above is this morning as it has started to refill. One of the pipes leads to the kitchen sink and almost touches the surface of the water held in the drain.

Nothing came up when I got the house surveyed. Any advice?

Many thanks

That looks a normal level. It works the same as your toilet.

If you steadily pour a bucket of water down it should hold a level and not overflow.
