Hi,

I'm planning to build a soakaway from a conservatory roof using one of these as a starting point into the ground.

http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-110mm-Black-Drain-Rainwater-Gully/p/158828

I've done the research about sizes and distances etc but my question is how do I join the pipes together?

This item

http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-110m...e-0-Deg-to-90-Deg-Single-Socket-Bend/p/191202

Only has a seal at one end, do I need to seal the other end with paste or can it just loose fit provided there is a downhill slope?

Sorry for such an obvious question.

Thanks

The wickes pipe is socketed on one end so you first attach the female part of the adjustable bend onto your black gulley and adjust the angle to where you want then you attach the socketed female part of your pipe onto the male end of the adjustable bend. The pipes just socket together as you go along

Are you digging a hole and filling with gravel? If so have you thought about crates? They are cheap on ebay and saves you the gravel. A crated hole 1m cubed is something like a gravel hole 2.5m cubed. I've got a 3m cubed crated soak away wrapped in geotextile taking all the water from 3 roofs on the back of my house and even in monsoon rains the drain never bubbles over
