I live in converted Victorian building. Kitchen floor is laminate up to the units. Under the units are draughty floorboards. Draught blows briskly from under them. Kickboards are not flush with floor (warped) or underside of units, leaving a gap for wind. Can I cure this by putting loft insulation under the units?[[/code]

if it's windy, you may get fibreglass dust blowing up into the room. it makes me cough.

a bit of vinyl flooring will stop the wind blowing up.

can you get under the floor?

do you own the place or rent it (makes a diff4rence to how much time and money you spend, and how much benefit you gain)

sounds like the kitchen work was a very cheap job.

Hows a bout a sheet or two of thin hardboard pinned down....cut to fit of course. Cheap as well....
