I've had a Digistat 3 (like this one) for about 8 years, in 2 separate houses - it's always worked fine. Today it's failed.

It looks just like this pic - little flame icon to show boiler should be lit - but nothing from the boiler. Boiler itself seems fine, as hot water is working okay. (Boiler is Glowworm Fuelsaver 50F)

I've taken the Digistat off the wall to check the incoming cable is live when the boiler is switched on - which it is.

I've noticed that when I press the up arrow on the stat to raise the required temp above room temp, the 'click' it gives is now much quieter than normal - used to be a very definite click, but now I can barely hear it.

Could this be any kind of problem at the boiler end, or should I just go and get a new thermostat?

Cheers

You need to check the return cable from the digistat to the junction box / boiler. You say you've checked the incoming live to the stat, so I assume you have some competence with electricity (and have at least an electrical testing screwdriver).

Thanks Chris

Yep, I have some competence with electricity - but no idea where to look for the return cable. Boiler setup looks like this:

Cheers - simple answer - changed the batteries and it now works fine :D

Strange though - there was no battery indicator on the display (which has always appeared in the past when the batteries are low) - little LCD display looked fine.

Anyway, it's fine now - and the house is getting warm again!
