Drayton LP241 display flashing

Hi, I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me with this problem.

I have just replaced my programmer because the hot and cold water on lights were dim and I had no hot water or central heating, the programmer was old and the swithes felt a bit funny when you pressed them.

I replaced the programmer with a Drayton LP241 making sure the backplate was the same and the fully pumped system switch mode was on.

When I switched the electricity back on it just flashes on the display.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Did you buy the LP241 as a brand new current production?

Have you checked the offs are all after the ons ?

This was bought brand new off ebay, there is no numeric display just a flashing light in the background of the display, I'm not sure but i think that the background light should be lit all the time, if this is the case i wonder if i have a faulty programmer
