I have a pumped, two valve heating and hot water system. I replaced the old LP241 controller with a new LP722 one. No problem as the wiring is exactly the same and it is just a lift and replace on the panel anyway.
However, I am finding that the pump is running sometimes when it is not needed. I have found it running at say 2am, when there is neither heating or ho water on (hours after the programs are off) and the only way to stop it is to turn the power to the system off. Strangely if the the power is immediately switched back on, the boiler fires up, although no program is on. Next morning everything seems ok again.
Any ideas?

Might be bette in plumbing and heating forum or electrical to gain best responses. However sounds like a wiring issue.
