on the Drayton thermostat there are three connection points , neutral ,live and switch , ? …..coming Off my boiler I’ve used neutral, I’ve taken the permanent live from the point shown after I’ve removed the loop ,, and used the other terminal for the switch on the Drayton thermostat ? Is that correct

If the live is a permanent live, yes.
The only other issue I’ve got is the thermostat itself I messed up ? Heating Will only click …on …when I use a tiny screw driver in the centre cross as when I took the dial off I turned the outer circle with my fingers and it won’t click at all when I put the face on and turn,, basically fluffed it somehow .. does it sound like I need a new thermostat?// cheers

I wouldn’t say new thermostat, are you sure the dial is on properly?

Yes mate with straight piece pushed on but when I turn it does nothing no click etc but if I use screwdriver in centre clicks every time ,,, so really just guessing on temp?

The switch doesn’t have to be live feed also ? I know it’s a silly question?
No, switch only becomes live on the switch on, hence the term switched live. No idea why it’s not clicking with dial on.
