Hi,

I took my radiators off to re-plaster my flat and bought new ones to replace them. Each radiator has a Drayton TRV4 valve on. The connector that comes out the side is male and 1" wide. My radiators are these ones http://www.heatandplumb.com/acatalog/Henrad_Compact_Radiator_450mm_High_x_400mm_Wide.html
with 1/2" female connectors. My local plumbing shop told me I must have non-standard Draytons which are 15mm (mine are about 25mm) and he didn't have any connectors I could use. It's now getting cold and I don't want to put my old radiators on and then drain them again if I can avoid it. The connectors the old radiators have is screwed into them and then has a large nut on it to screw over the Draytons connector.

Does anyone know where I can buy a fitting like that? It's either that or buy all new Draytons and freeze the pipes to replace the them, which I really don't want to have to do.

Many thanks...

You could theoretically do it with an assortment of reducers and fittings but it will look crap.
Try reaching your short arms into your long pockets and get some proper valves on the job.
Whats up with draining the system?

The old ones don't look rubbish. I just need ones like that with 1/2" male connectors on one end. I can't drain the system as I live in a 1930s Mansion block with a boiler in the attic. Also have no other valves on the radiators apart from the thermostat as the pipes come in to each room from the ceiling and go down through the floor.

Thanks anyway...
