I have a Drayton ZA5 2-Port which I suspect the auxilliary switch is faulty as it doesn't switch the circulation pump off when closed. While waiting for a replacement actuator is it ok to lock (and tape) the manual lever so the valve is open all the time? At tyhe moment the pump is running but the valve is closed.

Thanks

Yes, though the timer and thermostat will have no effect (probably) so you'll have to turn the boiler on/off/down.

Ah, good point! At the moment the only way I can get the pump to turn off is to move the valve to the manual (lock) open position. This is ok once but I have to do this every time the room thermostat switches off. I don't mind the water circulating so was looking for a way to make this happen so the pump is not pushing against the closed valves.
