The auxilliary switch inside the actuator does not work relliably and sometimes stays closed when the hot water is not called for and the valve closes, therefore leaving the boiler running. I have tried to get a replacement but had no joy so I bought a new actuator (Drayton ZA5 679-2),this does not fit so i presume I have to buy a new valve as well. Can anybody shed any light on this for me?

The new actuator rotates the head of the valve but my old valve head moves on line with the pipework about 5-6 mm!

if the microswitch is sticking then change it for the one out of the new valve.

if you dont want to rape the new valve then get down to RS components or similar with the microswitch and buy one from them.

Cheers everyone. I've bought a new valve to replace the old one. Will drain the system and replace it soon!
