Drench shower

What was the flow and pressure available before you decided to buy that mixer? If you didn't measure it in advance, do it now at the bathroom taps.

How is your hot water heated? Combi or cylinder? If cylinder, what colour?

Fill a bucket at the bath tap. Time it. Calculate how many litres per minute you get.

I anticipate that the amount of water you have available will be insufficient for a drencher shower.

I'm getiing 18ltrs a min
Hot or cold? You need to know what flow rate you get at an acceptable showering temperature really

I suspect that your shower isn't really suitable for a combi boiler. Unfortunately the manufacturers don't quote required flow rates so it's hard to check

I'll check the flow rate tonight plumber on my job is gonna have a look at it for me. Thanks everyone for your advice.

Just checked the water flow with a gauge cold is running at 14ltrs a min and hot is 7ltrs a min. I'm assuming that is nowhere near good enough? Is there anything i can do to change that. I live in a flat so not sure if water is off the mains

If it's a combi then it's off the mains. Flow rate sounds pretty awful to me, you're never going to get a cheap rain head to work with that - you need to spend more and get one matched to your system if you really want a rain head

Further Information:
Minimum Operating Pressure
0.5 Bar
Maximum Operating Pressure 5.0 Bar
Flow Rate High

How high is high ? Why can't the manufacturer / seller supply actual flow rates against pressure. ( maybe because it would reduce sales when potentail buyers or their plumber realised their existing heating and / or plumbing could not supply the flow rate required )

I have seen sucessful rain showers but they all required the plumbing to be altered.

This could work with your existing shower - just unscrew the head you have and screw this into place. Says it works down to 6.5 litres per minute and 0.1 bar. Available here
