drilling a new bath and sink, acrylic

hi have a new bath and sink. bath taps are 3/4 inch and sink taps are 1/2 inch. what is best and easiest way to drill both items. cheers

Its essential to use the appropriate size welded hole saw (with its pilot drill in the arbor) when drilling acrylic, and drill from the glossy side after covering the area with masking tape - which will help with the marking out.
Brass tap backnuts are a good idea, if your originals are that ghastly plastic.

No - use a hole saw for both! Saves likely damage.
With the taps in front of you, measure the thread diameter and choose the next size hole saw up.

You will probably find your 1/2" thread is actually about 3/4" diameter, and the 3/4" is about 1" because pipe thread sizes refer to the bore of an externally threaded pipe.
