DRILLING BEHIND FIRE !?

I need to get TV, speaker etc wiring through behind my fire as it looks awful draped over the fireplace.

I have replaced my gas fire with an electric.

Is it easy to drill the firecement stuff, & will i need some kind of heat proof sheaving to protect my wires ?

Prob wont need protecting unless lying against elec fire but be careful when drilling that you don`t hit the gas pipe if it is hidden in breast..

Easy enough to drill with a good drill and long SDS bit and yeah some heat protection wont do any harm only good.
