Drilling big holes in walls for waste pipes

If I drill a hole in an external wall for a waste pipe can I use filler on the edge of the wall around the pipe to make it look nice or should I leave a little gap for pipe expansion?
 
You are safe to seal around the pipe with filler or if you want you can use a flexible sealant but I don't envisage the pipes moving very much at all.
