I bought a drill in order to mount some roller blinds in which I need to drill into UPVC. Also to go into thick walls. The drill I got goes in to a point but then just won't go any further. I have the masonry drill bits. Is it just that this drill is not powerful enough and if so what kin of drill would I need to go into very hard materials?

No idea what that drill is or the spec about it so I can't really say if you've chosen something that is going to help carry out the task at hand but by the sounds of it, you're drilling into some kind of masonry. For that I'd personally use a rotary hammer drill or at the very least a decent combi drill with a hammer function.
