Drilling Tiles

Being a complete novice at this can anyone tell me how to drill through wall tiles & prevent them from cracking ??

i've always used insulation tape and then used masonary drills without cracking one..EVER! I may just be lucky however.

Put masking tape on the tile, use a masonary drill. NOT ON HAMMER
