Drilling zones in "I Joist"

Can anyone please tell me if the drilling zone through an I Joist is the same as the zone through a standard timber joist ie: 0.25 - 0.40, as I Joist have knock out holes all throughout its length.

Considering the knockout holes are perforated then I guess you could knock out as many as are located anywhere within the span of the joist.
 
I agree with Gary. The I joist is designed to have structural strength with its holes all knocked out.

Your job is to make sure that you get in there first and run cables so they will be in the way of the plumbers pipe runs :lol:
