Dripping sound in radiator

Hello, I have just moved into a new house in October. When the heating is turned on the radiator in the bedroom makes a dripping sound which gradually gets louder and then fades out & repeats! Do you have any suggestions on what the problem may be and how to rectify it please? Also the the boiler switches its-self off when turned on however when it is on the timer it does not? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

boiler is a ariston dia and there are 8 radiators.
