I cleaned out my f&e tank and added fresh inhibitor as it was 20 odd months since I last did it. I drained some water off via the valve on rad in kitchen, see photo, now though it won't stop dripping, never had this problem last time I did it. Have tightened it up as much as it will go. Any ideas on how to fix it. Has rad got to drained to fit a new valve?

20 months isn't enough to warrant it being done again, unless there's something you haven't mentioned. Regards the valve, try backing off the serrated disc and tighten up the spindle and then tighten the disc back up

Thanks, will try try that. How often should the inhibitor be renewed? The water I drained off was still clear.

Not a heating engineer but I would suspect it is rarely if ever done unless work on system is carried out

Dont tighten that drain off cock too tight or you might split the rubber washer. Most MT cocks are a standard seating closed off to the drain nipple by a rubber washer on a jumper mounted spindle. Split that washer and you'll be faced with draining the lot just to replace the washer and that's IF the seating is still good enough for sealing against.
