Hi
I'm decorating my Son's room
Problem: Dry Line Seam Tape blistered and lifted
Where: Loft room, where walls meet sloping ceiling.
House Age: About 7 years, so it should be settled now
So far, I have removed ALL the old tape to reveal some large 'ish cracks.
But I now I need some advise PLEASE
Questions:
1. Can I just fill the cracks with something like
http://www.polycell.co.uk/product/polycell-multi-purpose-polyfilla-powder/
THEN
2. Can I just re-skim the area where the tape was with something like
http://www.polycell.co.uk/product/polycell-finishing-skim-polyfilla/
I did not really want to try to tape the joints. When I decorated my other son's room, I had the same problem. I think I just cut out the blistered tape and filled it with
http://www.polycell.co.uk/product/polycell-multi-purpose-polyfilla-powder/
No cracks yet! (Decorated 2 years ago)
Do I really need to tape it? I thought the tape was to prevent cracks as the house settles. The house is 7 years old now, so I'm hoping to avoid taping.
What do you think?
Fill large cracks & skim, then paint?
Would be VERY grateful for any advice!!!!
The whole house is full of blistering & lifted tape!!!! I would have rather had cracks!!!!
