Yes that's my understanding. Or you cut the ridge open at the point of fitting to keep yourself waterproof for the days/weeks between felting the roof and completing the tiling.
If you're doing it for convenience rather than ventilation then presumably you can ignore that bit Otherwise, I guess it's because breathable felt isn't all that breathable and the requirement is for a 5mm clear airflow at the ridge.
I'm doing both, by the way - breather membrane all over, plus over-fascia vents and ridge vents. My ridge is already covered but I expect I'll scissor a slit in the top as I fit the ridge batten.
Gary Incase it's still useful to you, I put mine on at the weekend and it went on a treat and dressed over the tiles and stuck to em well. Also looks ok imho . Klober kit
Nice. I fitted mine last weekend too. Initially the butyl didn't stick too well to a few of the tiles (reclaimed ones with 15 years worth of weathering) but they've eventually glued themselves down well. I'm almost done on the roof other than having tiled myself in to a valley and needing to work out how to make the roof ladders work for some final detailing on the ridge.
