It's been renamed the George Best Dublin Airport.

Just why has it been named after a hopeless drunk that was given a liver transplant but continued to drink himself to death?

How about an Oliver Read airport?

Does anyone else find it a little crazy?

You would have thought they would have renamed Belfast Airport after George Best ,as he came from Northern Ireland  ;)

Oh well. You know what I mean.

A difficult one bearing in mind an alcoholic is an illness, took me over 3 yrs to be teetotal, it's not easy.

I would like to remembered Georgie Best as a great footballer and not an alcoholic.

Same with John Lennon airport, where he's remembered for his Beatles stuff, rather than any drug stuff, or my local airport, Robin Hood, where he is remembered for the prototype socialism, rather than the donkey sex scandal.

forget his drinking habits...could/or can you dribble like george, apart from the great pele,i don't /didn't know anyone better... ;)

It just goes to show that everyone loves a charming drunk

I preferred Oliver Read to George Best. I think he was gorgeous in his younger days :D
with that Brightness drifts off into dreamlike state with visions of that scene out of Women in Love

both Oliver Read and George left a good impression on the wogan show  would have been great if they was there together
