My wife bought some Dulux matt red paint for our sons bedroom. I've painted one wall with it, but to me it is far too reflective for a matt paint and wondered if this was normal with Dulux paints?

Our whole house it painted with Matt paint (different brands) and none of them reflect light like this red does.

Is it their normal wall and ceiling paint or one like endurance?

Have you got a pic of the tin?

Sorry, here is a picture of the tin. I've also attached a picture showing how reflective the wall is too.

Matt paints with lots of pigment often seem to be more shiny.

You could apply a dead flat waterbased varnish over the top (eg Polyvine). If you do, ensure that the painted wall is clean, otherwise any dust/fibres/etc will be visible (and trapped in the clear varnish).

It might be worthwhile complaining to Dulux. I avoid their DIY range of paints but whenever I have had problems with the Dulux Trade paints they have been helpful and often provide full refunds (ie vouchers).
