Hello guys,

I have mist coated my newly skimmed ceiling with Dulux trade vinyl matt, watered down by 20%.

I have also used this as a base coat on the walls because stripping the wallpaper left very patchy walls. By this I mean there were many areas of bare plaster where the original paint had been pulled off when stripping the paper.

I'm now ready to apply a second coat to the ceilings and walls but i'm not sure how much I should dilute it by?

Some people recommend 10-15% and others suggest not diluting it all!

The trade stuff is really thick so if I have to apply it without watering it down it will be an absolute nightmare

Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt is good paint, however, in my opinion it is far to thick, and this can cause longterm probs. Your cieling should be ok but u should have thinned it down by 25%. Anyway, i am of the opinion that your second coat should be used at 15% thinned down by water.
