Hi, I really hope someone here can offer some advice...... My other half and I are renovating an old French farmhouse, and have started sanding the oak floors. The dust is very fine and after a couple of hours using disposable dust masks we were coughing and spluttering, aching and shivering and really unwell. So, I ordered a Silverline half mask respirator from Amazon (it was the only one they would send to France). However, it has got A1 filter cartridges, which are 'suitable for paint spraying and organic material of low toxicity'. I gather I need P2 or P3 cartridges for dust, but cannot get any to fit this respirator.

So, after that long story............ what would happen if I wear the mask with the A1 filters? If the filters will keep out spray paint surely they will keep out dust as well - or isn't it that simple?
