Not a problem in winter but can only get hot water when central heating is operating.When heating is off the boiler will not start up when hot tap is opened. Can anyone guide me as to what part could be the problem pls.

The best and simplest solution is just to replace the boiler and save water!
I dont see how Guru can imply that its ever a simple job.
The one and only time I did one was to show a trainee how and it took my predicted 2.25 hours.
