DVD ROM Drive Woes

Am having trouble with DVD ROM. worked one minute, gone the next. Seems a loss of power.

Looked in BIOS for settings, it seems from the BIOS there isn't one!

The choices are "None" or "Disabled".

BIOS doesn't control output of PSU AFAIK.


Will check voltages to DVD from loom.

Black = 0V.

Yellow = 12V.

Red = 5V.

That right?

Correct, the BIOS has no control over the PSU beyond on/off.

It could just be a loose connection.

Is there a trapped CD in there?
