Hi,

Im insulating my loft at the moment, would it be best to stick PIR to the front (room side) of the chip board or on the back?

On the back is fine, in between the studs the full depth of the studs, then ideally a continuous layer of say 30mm over the whole lot.

You could continue down the rafters and have that storage area warm. Is there insulation under the boarding?

Yeah there is under the boarding already I'll keep it simple and go with Freddie's option
