Dyson DC04

I've a broken lead to the switch on my Dyson DC04 (mains side). On my old Dyson (DC01), access to the switch was fairly easy, but on this one the switch seems to have to slide out but it is not happening & I don't want to force in case I'm going about it the wrong way.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You remove the button to reveal a torx screw that holds the switch assembly in place. It is not easy to get the button off but you do it by poking a thin screwdriver down the little hole you will find half way along the flat side of the button. I find I often end up destroying the button but they are not too expensive to renew.
