When I was cleaning the post motor filter I noticed that around the middle the metal fins were bent. What's causing this and is this normal? I thought it might be due to the force of the cyclone effect inside but I'm not sure.

The Dyson is only about 2 years old (comes with a 5 year warranty) and lightly used, flters cleaned regularly. Is it something that Dyson will fix or is it "wear and tear"?

I think probably only Dyson can answer your question. Give them a ring I've always found their service team to be very helpful.
