got a new pc and had it set up today by someone, although they ran out of time before fully finishing. At the moment, whilst i can receive e-mails in outlook i cant send any. Every time i try i get a box pop up titled "Enter Network password" it has three seperate boxes on it. the first is server, the second user name and the third is password. Even when all the details are filled in correctly, it keeps reappearing. How do i turn it off? Im running windows xp and office 2003.

many thanks

thermo

i'm on 2007 so might be slightly different but goto:
tools>options>mail setup>email accounts>
highlight your account and click change
goto:
more settings>outgoing server
tick "my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
and also select "use same settings as my incoming server"
more than likely that will sort it

cheers for the help. i set up another account and re-entered all the info and it seems to be ok now.

thanks for your time
