But you do not need any conductor connecting the hot and cold pipes together in a kitchen.
The fact that the cable you have is not unbroken is totally irrelevent unless
a) it is the main bonding cable that is located within 600mm of the cold water stop cock and
b) it then goes on to bond to the incoming gas service pipe.
