Earthenware Soil Pipe/socket

I have just chisled away a cemented porcelein pan connector from the socket and had intended to re use the socket but the socket now looks ugly as it protrudes approx 3" above floor level. what options do I have ? can I cut the earthenware somehow say with a grinder or will I risk cracking it and making the job worse than ever.

cut it off and use a multiquick pan connector
