I understand that plastic pipes, as such, don't need earthing, but I'm replacing just a section of copper piping with plastic, so can anyone tell me whether I need to use earth wire around the plastic section, please?

Thanks in advance to anyone who's kind enough to advise!

you would be wasting your time, plastic does not conduct electricity.

you could use an earth clamp either side and connect that with 6mm earth wire to keep continuity see this

Thanks, Breezer - that was the kind of thing I had in mind, so the earth clamp looks very useful!
