When testing a live circuit (Safe Isolation) you would get a positive reading across L +N and L+E and nothing across N+E.
:?: The question is; would this be the same for TT as well as TN systems? :?:
 
Yes.

But don't say positive - thats for DC supples - positive an negative.

We use live and neutal, and so say something is live, or say it has a potential difference of 240v etc.

Neutral to earth should be near to zero, but may have a few volts hanging on it due to volt drop in the neutral etc.
