The gas fitter doesn't understand what he's asking for, or you have misrepresented his request.

This sounds as if you may need your main protective bonding moving in conjunction with work on the gas service. This was possibly not required when your electrical work was carried out.

Call the person who did the electrics (and issued you a certificate, obviously) and ask his advice. Nobody here can advise further without more information.

(By the way, text-speak is considered mildly rude by those of us with full keyboards and a rudimentary grasp of grammar.)

C'mon ding - you've made your point.... :D

Annemarie - he is right in a way, it's not used all the time (or at least it shouldn't be), but he didn't actually say it was offensive. I'd class it as annoying, and therefore would agree that once you know it's annoying it's a bit rude to carry on doing it.

But it isn't worth generating conflict over - more important to get your electrical questions answered.

Can you take photos of where your gas and water pipes, and main electrical supply cable enter the house, the area around the meter and CU, and any green/yellow cables connected to the gas & water, and post them here?

Its a good job sparkies don't use text speak. I am highly offended now and I am reporting this thread to Greater Manchester Police. :D
