Dear all,

I have noticed that one of my kitchen sockets is not earthed, I was wondering what would be a quick n easy solution,

its a metal twin metal socket with a metal back box.

any help will be greatly appreciated,

thanks

joe

Do you mean that the metal plate of the socket (and maybe also the back box) does not appear to be earthed, or that there is no apparent earth conductor (CPC) going to the socket at all?

Kind Regards, John

how have you noticed this? what wires are available inside the socket? can you post a photo? if there is an earth wire, is it connected to the terminal on the socket?

If this is a socket outlet it must be earthed!
Isolate the circuit, prove circuit is dead by using approved voltage indicator and check that the earth has not become loose or if there is one within the sheath of the cable.
If not you require an electrician.
