Economy 7 not needed, but have economy 7 tariff!

We've recently moved house, and changed electricity supplier, and they automatically put us on an Economy 7 tariff. There is no reason for us to be on this tariff, and I would prefer to be on a normal tariff, as the unit price is cheaper.

We have an Economy 7 meter installed, so does this dictate that we have to have the Economy 7 tariff? Could we have a normal tariff with this meter, or would we have to change meter?

Check first that you can't get an advantage by running e.g. immersion heater, tumble drier, washing machine, swimming pool heater, sauna, at night.

If not, the supplier should have no objection to changing back.
