ecotec 428 no hot water

We recently had to drain the central heating to repair a leak, one everything was back together we fired up the boiler, we have central heating but if we just want hot water the boiler keeps cutting out. As it was working OK before I suspect we must have an air lock. Any body have an idea on how to vent the boiler. It does come up with the pump overrun code

Look for a vent point beside the HW cylinder, on the top pipe that enters about half way up the cylinder side.
